Problem Child has a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes?! A 2.7 on Letterboxd makes sense, even if I disagree, but a 0%??!! I bought this on blu-ray recently, and I feel great about that $7.
This was on tv constantly when I was a kid. I've probably seen it fifty times, which sounds like an exaggeration, but I think it's accurate. Then at some point, USA (the network, not the country) must have stopped, and it faded from everyone's memory. The last time I remember watching it on TV was in 2004, and I was so surprised and excited that it was on, but now I'm wondering if it was On Demand and not really "on tv."
Anyway, I still love this. It is exactly as I remember. If I hear "It's My Party", my mind immediately sees Junior throwing Lucy's presents in the pool. When I see Kramer, I think "that's Kramer AKA THE BOWTIE KILLER" because I don't really like Seinfeld.

Straight off the success of last year's <I>Longlegs</i>, Oz Perkins delivers another dark horror hit with <I>The Monkey</i>, a film based on a Stephen King short story.
Where the film lacked in dialog, mostly monotone voiceovers, it made up quickly with creative, dark kills, which grew more brutal as the film moved on. The gore factor was fine, even better than expected, but the characters needed more depth, and it ultimately didn't deliver throughout. I didn't like that they just casually strolled through while all hell broke loose around them, and acted as if it's (the random accidents/kills) a normal occurrence. Still, as a result, a decent watch as Perkins continues to be a director to keep your eyes on.

There were a lot of live-action family sports movies in the 90s, but only one can be the best. It's Little Giants.
Rick Moranis and Ed O'Neill as rival brothers is 90's dream casting, and it introduced us to Devon Sawa at the start of his epic Little Giants / Casper / Now & Then run.
It also introduced me to misogyny, when Danny didn't pick Icebox for the team, even though she was the best player, and then had the nerve to suggest she become a cheerleader!

I love the visuals: the framing, the editing, the color scheme, the vibes. The action scenes are a lot of fun to watch, with interesting choreography and a frenetic energy. The story was also good, but it clashed with the action scenes for me. I either want an adrenaline-infused action movie, or I want a politically and spiritually meaningful story. It gave me tonal whiplash.
You know what though? One of my favorite action movies is Shoot Em Up, so this is probably just a Stormy problem.
Catherine O'Hara and Fred Willard are unstoppable. There are so many talented cast members in the Christopher Guest mockumentaries, but those two are the cream of the crop. It might be the first time I've ever used the phrase "cream of the crop", but if something ever deserved it, this is it.
Overall, For Your Consideration is solid. It doesn't have as many memorable moments as Best in Show, maybe because movies about making a movie are more common than movies about dog shows. The dialogue is frequently laugh out loud worthy, and everyone in the cast gets time to shine. Fred Willard and Jane Lynch's talk show hosts are overall the standout scenes. I was over Jane Lynch's schtick at the height of Glee, but she makes facial expressions just standing still in this that were cracking me up.
I am mixed on this one. It is beautiful. The colors, the art, the scenery, the little Eevee looking fella; I love all of that. I watched this over three viewings, because I just kept falling asleep. It has a meaningful and relevant message, but I think I need something with a bit more punch or zip. I love and appreciate the woman hero, and also the woman villain, but not enough happened to make me really invested. I can see why it is so beloved; I just didn't connect with it the way I would have wanted to.
There's a version of this movie that would have been a huge hit in 2008.
The first hour is pretty funny if you like Will and Reese, which I do. I also really like a lot of the supporting cast members, especially Keyla Monterroso Mejia who stole the show for two seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm and continues to steal any scene she's in. Love her.
The second hour was a noticeable decline. The alligator? The ending? It felt like someone else wrote the second half. Someone who maybe really loves The Hangover and then decided this should be a rom-com but has never seen a rom-com before.
Bonus points for the cast singing a song during the credits. I love that stuff.
I like my horror movies to be heavy on the comedy, but this is a comedy with splashes of horror. Literal splashes, if you know what I mean. I like that though, so I mean it complimentarily. The easy comparison is Final Destination, except the kills here are so quick and specific that it didn't leave me with any new phobias like FD always did.
Tatiana Maslany is wonderful as always, and this performance made me especially want to see her in some dark comedies or a Tim Burton movie. It's always fun to have Elijah Wood. Theo James was solid as the lead, but I'm not sure why they gave one twin such a bad haircut.
Written by a couple guys who didn’t go to college and didn’t have sex until after they got married who watched Species.
I’d be willing to give this a pass if not for the STUPID portrayals of college kids. NO ONE acts the way these people did.

5 stars for the return of Cary Elwes, and then a 2.5 star penalty for the pink blood, the bad acting, and all the other things I didn't like.
They had me at Devon Sawa, and they locked it in with "You can be so Clueless sometimes. It's one of the 10 Things I Hate About You."
Heart Eyes might be too rom-com for some slasher fans and too slasher for some rom-com fans. For me, it works. I didn't expect it to be as rom(antic) or as com(edic), and that was a pleasant surprise. The kills were also pretty cool. Fun for the whole family, and I love movies like this getting a theatrical run.
