Remember when the Internet bullied the studio into redesigning Sonic? I wish that would have happened with the furniture characters here. They sort of freaked me out except the armoire.
I just don't know why I would ever watch this and not the animated one.

The first time I saw this, I fell asleep during the opening scene. I was in and out for the duration and decided There Will Be Blood must not be for me.
I stayed awake this time!
It starts with fifteen minutes with no speaking (probably why I fell asleep), and then you get two and a half hours of impeccable dialogue, delivered perfectly. Nothing can make it better. No notes. Then everytime I'd get a little antsy, because it is pretty long, Daniel would get a little bit more unhinged, and I'd forget that I was about to pause it to get a snack.
The end was equally unexpected and exactly right. And weirdly a little funny.
If it's not baroque, don't fix it!
I'd like some back story on Mrs. Potts. She looks pretty old to have such a young child, and as far as I can tell she's single. There's a story there.
Great performances from the whole cast. Once the twist starts twisting, you can tell where some things will end up. It's a little long; at one point I thought it was wrapping up, and there was an hour left, but it's beautifully shot and the cast really delivers, so it doesn't drag.
Kirsten Dunst, my millennial hero, one of the most underrated actresses of our generation.
The first time I watched Fantastic Mr. Fox, I hated it. I saw it in theaters, and looking back at the date it came out, I was in my first trimester, so maybe it was the hormones talking.
Now fourteen years later, it was my first watch from my Second Chances list. I loved it. I want to replace all the framed art in my house with Fantastic Mr. Fox stills. Most of my laugh out loud moments were from Jason Schwartzman's Ash, but it got me every single time Kyrie had hypnotized eyes and when they would eat so chaotically. The sudden switch from being well-mannered, sharp-dressed, and proper to eating like, well, animals, caught me off guard in the best way.

Saoirse Ronan is spunky and adorable, despite this being a film with murders.
Worth a watch, but I wish it was a little more of everything it was going for. It has a Wes Anderson vibe, but they should have done it more. It's quirky, even though I sort of hate describing things as quirky, but it should have been quirkier. It reminded me of Only Murders in the Building's third season, but this came out first.
Five stars for episode one, three for the dip in the middle, four for the rest.
Ms. Marvel is wholesome and definitely feels the most Disney-Channel of the MCU. Iman Vellani is perfectly cast, and she's written like an actual teenage girl. Her friends, family, and community also feel real and relatable.
There are a lot of moments that remind me of Spider-Man. Earnest teens saving their neighborhoods. Testing out their powers on rooftops. At one point she hops through the air over a hot dog vendor, and I really wish we would've gotten a "Do a flip!" Fingers crossed for a team up down the road.
I spent half of the movie thinking about how great Steve Buscemi is and the other half thinking I should buy Drop Dead Gorgeous on bluray, you betcha.

Dumb, immature, ridiculous fun from Adam Sandler & co. Classic.
Nebula is the unsung hero of the Infinity Saga. We meet her as a villain and learn about her tragic backstory. We see her mend her relationship with Gamora and open herself up to new friendships. She plays paper football with Tony, and she loves it. She's part of the gang, she saves the world, and she beat Tony at paper football. What an arc.
The portal scene makes me cry every time. Full tears.
The journey through the past movies is my favorite element. I'm very nostalgia-biased, so these scenes resonate with me. Those fresh-faced core Avengers in NYC. War Machine watching Starlord dance. Thor and his mom. A trip down memory lane, remixed and repurposed in the grand finale.

It has been some time since I last watched <i>Hereditary </i>(2020 according to Letterboxd). I didn’t leave a review last time, but it’s now 2024, so yeah.
It’s well-directed and has a great story to tell, but, to be frank, I wasn’t too into it. Great performances by all, especially Toni Collette, but it was slow to deliver.
I get the Ari Aster fandom surrounding his films and stories (I loved <i>Midsommar</i>), as well as for A24. He’s a great writer and storyteller, and I loved reading trivia about the film, but it just wasn’t for me. I’ll leave my 3-star rating here, though, for creative purposes (the sets were incredible).
