If this came out when I was younger, it would be one of my favorite Christmas movies. I'm older though, so instead it is like 15th place, which is still a decent rank. I just want Bill Hader and Anna Kendrick to be happy, whether it's in the North Pole or in Arizona.
The first time Scott Calvin shows up in the North Pole, the elves just keep on smiling and living it up. They are completely unphased that Santa died. They have lived through so many Santas that he's like a goldfish they won at a carnival.
I don't think I was ever the target demographic for this, but I do think the 3d jokes have aged in a funny way.
I’ll give this just 2 stars mainly because the dubbing is AWFUL! There may be a good monster movie hiding somewhere, IF I could ever watch it in the original language and possibly edit.
One of Angelina Jolie’s best action flicks!
I don't usually mind flashbacks, but there are so many that it constantly disrupts the flow and ruins any momentum. Strange choice to cast Jon Snow and Robb Stark when there's a character named Sersi. That plus Angelina Jolie feel like stunt casting. Kumail Nanjiani is the comic relief and my favorite character, even though it doesn't really fit the vibe.
This should have been a tv show. Imagine if it had been like Lost, where each episode gives you someone's back story, and by the end you have grown to care about every character.
Highly quoteable and the most iconic Christmas movie of the 2000s, but I'm over it about 20 minutes in. If it was ended into a half hour tv special, I think I'd be more on board. I like Zooey but not every movie needs a love story, and this is one that certainly does not. Let's cut that for time and try out a shortened version next year.
When this movie came out, I didn't like it. Now I've come to embrace that sometimes a Christmas movie will be about Luke Wilson immediately and relentlessly hitting on his brother's girlfriend (which either no one notices it is bothered by), a couple splitting up to date the other's sibling instead, and a parent having cancer. I love mean Rachel McAdams, and I love Claire Danes, so I guess this is all fine now.
One of the most fun and rewatchable MCU movies, especially since it works as a stand-alone with no homework necessary to jump in.

The story is pretty interesting, as someone who had a BlackBerry and had since forgotten about their existence entirely. Jay Baruchel and Glenn Howerton are what you'll remember about this afterwards though. I went into it fans of theirs in general, Jay's comedies and Glenn in Always Sunny. They are both on a different level in this; they transformed into these new characters, and it is impressive and fun to watch.
