The Hunger Games is one of my favorite franchises. It was great to see the first one on the big screen in the theaters again. I only wish they had gone all in and brought them all back.

As far as “Jaws” clones, this may be the best! It is not as much fun as some of the European films, but it is a great time. The effects are, for the most part, impressive and I’ve always been a fan of Robert Forster.
Another film that I have, up to this point, never gotten around to watching.
AMAZING film! I’m almost angry that I’ve waited this long.
This was a five-star watch for me when it came out in 2009. It has lost a star over the years; the first watch is the best watch. I'm not going to be mad at a movie that gives me Steve Zahn + Timothy Olyphant + Chris Hemsworth though.
Overall this is a solid thriller with a great cast. It's not especially scary but sometimes I loop it into my October Halloween list just for funsies.
With over a decade passing since Scream 3, Scream 4 could have been a swing and a miss, but they KILLED it. Pun intended.
There's a great balance between the returning favorites and the new characters. It has the classic Scream elements that we love, and they modernized it for the Internet/social media age.

I can't say every joke lands as well as it did in 2000. I love Anna Faris in it though, and I love Scream, and I like I Know What You Did Last Summer, and that's enough to get me through.

This is a fun watch! Bob Hope is great as the “brave coward”, and Paulette Goddard is just brilliant!
I didn't expect a lot from the third film in this series, but it did deliver (not as much as anticipated, but it did).
After <I>13 Cameras</I> and <i>14 Cameras</i>, who knew where this was all going to end. Unfortunately, the villain from the first two films, Neville Archambault, passed away in August 2022, so the storyline here, based on his character's actions from the first two films, is that his video monitoring equipment has been discovered and is now a Netflix-like series detailing his murders and supposed death.
In one of the featured homes, a two-story (separated) home, a couple have moved in and rent out the bottom floor to two college-aged women. The husband learns that there is a hidden area where the villain's computer setup is still active, so he takes it upon himself to, in some ways, fill his shoes... until he doesn't have to.
It's a bit slow at times, and the husband makes a number of terrible decisions, but the ending brought it all together, and justice is/was served.
This hasn't aged well for me. I was 17 when it came out; I think if I had been younger, I would have a nostalgia attachment. I do have a nostalgia attachment to the cast, especially Matthew Lillard, and that's how it secured two stars. The part where Scooby is dressed as a woman on the plane is too much for me now. I laugh but I also just can't handle it.
An all-time top 10 for me, always. I was 3 when it came out, and it was one of those movies that was always on tv, so there was never a time when I had favorite movies and this wasn't one of them.

The obvious weak link in the Scream franchise, because it is the ONLY weak link. I am generous in my 3 star rating; I round up due to general love of the series.
I like the concept of this one being centered around the making of a Stab film. It's a fun idea. Beyond that, the new characters weren't likeable or fun, and the ending reveal feels like a bit of a stretch in terms of tying to the original story. Where the second one builds the world out, the third one lifts it up, plops it somewhere else, and it feels disconnected.
Where to begin with this one? <I>Saw</i> is a simple film, mostly set in a single location that sets the stage for the popular franchise. While this film helped set the "torture porn" standard, it's incredibly brilliant and twisted, resulting in one of horror's most incredible endings seen on film.
After 20 years, it's incredible to see how the franchise has grown. After the success of 2023's <I>Saw X</i>, there are more opportunities to learn about Jigsaw's universe, from both himself and his accomplices, which we'll see in 2024's <I>Saw XI</i>.
Game on.
