scorsese and deniro is probably the greatest actor and director duo ever.
every time they work together, deniro delivers his all.cape fear is a great mystery film, its shot and scored like a horror film which rightfully so, the mystery of the film is haunting because we don't know cady's motive for the entire movie until the third act.

steven spielberg should not have been the one telling this story, yes but the film is still tragic in its story and characters.
its world is painfull for these people and sadly therefore realistic.i really love the performances of everyone and all tho spielberg was not the right choice, he gives his great eye of directions to it and easily one of the best films he's ever made and also really one of the film that i think earns its runtime.
i really like that spielberg makes really long films but also allot of his films are killed by the runtime. lincoln, 1941, close encounters with the third kind and catch me if you can among others.

Great action sequences but I would've rather have much more focus on the romance but I liked the ending very much.
I do think the action scenes get repetitive but thats more the fault of the technology and where they could put the camera.
Where were the minorities?
Its good, its frantic, its fun.
Really the big negative here is spielberg's modern cinematography for almost every project has this unique style, you can recognize his sort of cinematography in things like high exposure levels but here it just doesn't work for me.

Good. Boring
Cameron creates a sweeping romance with spectacle but tbh its so long that at a point it feels self indulgent.
I like rose, her character is really good and the film making on display is amazing but....i don't care that much about jack and for the first 20 min or so we have to sit with obnoxious characters besides rose. I really hate those people searching for that diamond.
Jack is a fine character, he still has chemistry with rose but he as a character I just don't care for.
A large issue with the film in its 3rd act is that while I feel deeply sorry for the people on the titanic who aren't rich, it thinks it can use sad piano music for the rich people on board as well. That feels really weird.

hook is wonderous but also not that great.
its definitly got spirit all right, robin williams and dustin hoffman play both pan and hook excellently and its first act sets its main conflict up really well but the second act feels like it kinda does away with it and rather have kid hjinks. i mean pan stil wants his kids back but im not interested in the neverland kids here. for like 10 to 15 are spend with pan going "this is so weird" and yelling. the humor like pan himself is childish so it doesn't really land much for me.
i do think its 3rd act kinda saves it tho. hook has allot of flaws but its spirit and wonder makes it so compelling to watch through the end as well as robin williams.
Probably some of spielberg's most fluid camera movement. It allows for the already great dance choreography to flourish and add another level to its musical numbers which, I don't really love. I like them but I wouldn't really listen to them or remember them.
The cast is great but some characters feel underwritten in the end, especially mike faists character, i like that he dies because of his own actions but it leaves his character unsatisfying. There are other characters in this film that feel underwritten but the main leads are great.
one of spielberg's best of this century which kinda sucks because not allot of his films from the last 3 decades are good but i was pleasantly suprised by this.
its story is sweet, harry joel osmont and jude law are both great. they both are some of the best performances in a spielberg film imo.
i think the last 25 min are confusing a shit, while its a sweet ending, im still confused on why they chose for exactly that.
allot of times in spielberg films you can feel him and the script grasping for something to say but he never gets there.
