When I think of movies that show our species, the imperfections we come with and how that's lovely then I think of this film.
The comedy is pitch perfect, it lets us know more about the characters while also not undermining it's messages when joking about stuff like Max's weight.
Also stop motion is peak.

better then the last movie but still really bad.
Such a lazy movie that introduces nothing new to this franchise and the previous movies were already fucking barebones as it is.
The visual effects are awful, i like to group horror movies with specifically these kinds of awful digital effects because i feel there was and still kinda is a looming digital threat around horror films. Don't get me wrong digital effects can look great but more often then not, practical effects are better. Gore is seemingly a hard task to get right with vfx in horror movies at least.
Anyway bad characters, not that memorable kills and the movie looks like shit.
Its not that funny tbh, the main leads have good chemistry but thats kinda it.
The story is pretty good but honestly i don't care that much for the characters. The dialogue is very forced sometimes like the line about glee.
the dvd commentary is really just 80% of the cast and crew dicking around and 20% of actual facts about the film.
Allot of scenes had me on the edge of my seat. I don't think the first hour or so is bad like allot of reviews say but it is still very exposition heavy but hey at least they mention phillip seymour hoffmans character.
Also the visuals is a step up from dead reckoning.

also before i went into the theater, a woman in a gorgeous dress walked before me and im like....give me that dress ma'm?
the movie still doesn't make henry cavill a good actor but other then that this is a masterpiece. and while yes, every MI film has amazing set pieces, i think this one matches ethans personal stakes and global stakes perfectly.
also ving rhames is very funny in this one.
i think this one is just overall a perfect ride of blockbuster action suspense but also a perfect film in the sense that ethan feels the most human in this one for me.
the movie feels like a dream, not a bad or good one but just...A dream.
a dream where you talk to someone but still feel like your talking to yourself.
a dream where you qeustion things or go somewhere you aren't suppose to be.
the film is like a song composed out of silent tears and instruments we need to express those tears but those instruments we hold dear and near to our hearts are not in this place but somewhere far away.
without the instruments, there is a song but you can't sing it to drown out your sorrow.
just like kaufman's other work, its unique and compelling sense of loneliness and dread but also finality shines bright.
jim carrey is amazing and while his comedic roles are great...i would've liked this to be what he's more known for instead of ace ventura.
the overall shaky handheld style camera movements add to how fragile joel looks every time he's on screen.
maybe these movies aren't for me but the acting is still pretty bad, the writing is lame as fuck and while the deaths are pretty good....they hold no weight imo because we don't get more then 4 scenes with allot of characters.
you know what what would be awesome?
a movie in this franchise with good character writing and a 2 hour runtime because then the deaths would have actual impact because i would care about the characters.
A somber tale and the film making moved at a snails pace, the camera moves slow, the editing is slow and every single movement anything does feels slow wich adds to the film.
It's really unique and not something I've seen before wich is awesome.
