it retains some of the spirit of the first 3 movies but it makes john to clean, he's to much like your generic action hero.
some of the shit he pulls himself out of is to over the top and because of that he turns into this super human. he still gets hurt sometimes but he gets up in like no time. the fun of the original trilogy is that john makes mistakes while fighting, half of the time he loses with his brawn but wins with his smarts.for example, i like the moment in die hard 2 where a board of wood falls on top of him, he loses his gun yet he gets quick back on his feet.
in the third film him and graves are stuck, captured by the bad guys but ultimately get free because of working together.
i also feel that john's cockiness level is toned down way to much.
at least justin long was fun aswell as the goat that is kevin smith making a cameo.

mclane and carver have such great chemistry, they're bond naturally develops over time and carvers atitude against mclane makes sense.
mclane is a smart ass and reckless. carver on the other hand doesn't like cops, specifically white cops.
i do understand carvers thinking but he also generalizes but threwout the film he learns to get allong with mclane.
i also like jeremy irons as the villain and the film has some great set pieces.
Die hard 2 is kinda the same film as the first film at least in structure but the character of John mclane is still engaging to watch.
It also has pretty much the same villains on paper.
The feature uses the first film as it's blueprint but that's not entirely a bad thing. It's not even close to being as good as the first film but it maintains quality by altering motives and little things to make it stand on its own.

i think the gimmick of coming back every time is really fun and if you want that then yeah i geuss this film is fun but thats kinda it.
the characters are disposable.
its apparantly very difficult to create good characters in horror movies.

wes anderson at his most thrilling, suspensful and charming while also sprinkling in commentary on fascism.
undeniable andersons best, its paced perfectly.
some say his most recent movies suffer from overstylisation to the point of parody but personally i don't think that exists at all.
i think thats a dumb critique, what? you critique a directors film because its to "directed"?
now i do think his later films lack a few things but not every film can be perfect.
First of all, its insane that a pedophile convicted in 1988 still got to make movies in the 2001.
And with that out of the way, this film is pretty decent, the title character himself is a pretty scary force.
I think the imagery is pretty good and the ending shot is haunting.
Almost entirely disposable.
There is simple just not that much to care about, no characters to be invested in, no compelling story.

it does feel very slow at points but the film captures the spirit of things like being online and reading or watching a video about a creepypasta.
that era of the internet is something that i've experienced.
the film isn't scary like other films are but horror can come in many things and it can be used anyway.
i think the film shows the terrifying loneliness of the internet and how it can break our mental state if we aren't carefull.
ngl the more i rewatch this film the more i realize i don't know any other movie besides like 1 that tackles the experience of being trans.
emilia perez and the danish girl don't count.
a meta documantery of a messy film making production of a probably homophobic and sexist script. the film more so asks allot of qeustion in terms of what these people are doing or what the film means in the grand scheme.
imo no matter the outcome, its a fascinating film to talk about that gives you allot to think about.
i can't even tell if this is an actually documentary or not because while everything feels like it has intend, every line of dialogue spoken and every movement done by any person feels very real.
