the self importance of the general public is something we all know exist but i would say, there isn't a lot of films that talk about it.
if anything, most people don't know what the actual fuck they are talking about when talking about art in any form, they just wanna consume because all we can do is be consumers of the lowest common denominator and all they want is to feel good and have everything by strictly for them and make them feel better or it isn't worth it. it hinders not only them intellectually but everyone around them as well because frankly the connection art has to politics can't be mistaken.
people want escapism but the qeust for that makes them blind and the only they succeeds in is drag everyone else with them down under.
yannick's speech in the beginning shows what kind of person he and to extension, a lot of audiences are to the core. he gives a self serving speech about his needs and feelings, how his remarks about "what art is"" displays a level of unseriousness about art and what art is. he doesn't care about anything but himself and generally he never talks about the people around him in his daily life, you have to wonder tho if this unseriousness about art and others carries over onto people because people are a foundation of art but yannick doesn't care about other people as he so clearly displays.(watch my films

normally i enjoy mechagodzilla entries but this was just boring.
it has all the strengths of the other godzilla films from this era but it very much so repeats the same thing from other mechagodzilla entries in the franchise. maybe i shouldn't have watched the majority of the franchise all in one go ( even if it was very fun) because i catch to much similairities between entries maybe?idk, i just didn't really find this one entertaining.

i think why i like this so much and why i think i would generally defend this film is because it is an extension of the themes from the first 3 films and for a franchise so beloved for the realistic ways it depicts kids and the life cycle they have with toys, i don't get why people hate the fact bonnie is "neglectful" of woody or the fact woody leaves her. its natural for a kid to have favorites and forget about some toys, woody leaving isn't a betrayal of his character but a natural conclusion because woody finally breaks the cycle he's in. bonnie doesn't use him so why keep hanging around?
sure, andy gave him to her but for once, woody has to think of himself as a person, a living thing and not a toy and in the end he doesn't stray away from his views on being a toy. he instead adapts to his enviroment and place in that as he becomes a person that helps other toys find new homes for kids. imo this a much more interesting direction you could've taken after 3 instead of it just staying the same, you'd ingeneral realize that if woody stayed, he and the rest would be in an unknowing endless cycle that, may or may not would doom some of them. ingeneral i think its unexpected endings for most of the characters displays the fact that life is unexpected in how it turns out no matter what or who you are.

the longer the films go on and the more their stories get creative it becomes less funny sure but while i do think these films often repeat the same thing over and over again, they do so with intend and create something new out of that.
if anything, i think the film is some of the most smartly written american animated films of the 2010s because it evolves the franchise from the second film. what do you do as a toy when let go? with this, the films become more about parenthood then anything else and the need to let go. a toy can have so many outcomes. it can be lost, destroyed, donated, thrown away or given away. i do think it handles its emotional scenes way better then 2 considering not only does its connections to real world time help it out but its just way better in context then what 2 tried.

not as funny as the first film but generally it has a better story.
jessie is a fun new character but i think the emotional moments they go for don't really hit me that much because i don't think this is a sad film and i see these films more as comedies then films with actual drama. which, they do but those emotional type of drama's this is not.'i think the sidecharacters having more screentime allows for more dynamics to be shown. wallace shawn is my goat.
the animation and technological has visually become better, even as someone who thinks the first film hasn't aged, i can't deny it does look technologically better.(watch my films

overall a classic but to me the most interesting thing about the film itself but also the overall consensus and idea in discourse is that the film looks "dated" and i just don't think thats true and largely it has better lighting, shading and shot compesition then most newer films from the century, as technology moved forward, style and the look of modern cgi animation went backwards(largely the toy story films have avoided this issue)
its also just one of the sharpest comedies from the 90s which is definitely due to the killer performances from both tom hanks and tim allen because gosh darnit, they are likeable but also just fluid with their voices in both lines and screams. the other toys are largely shafted and the film kinda goes wherever it wants too because of its 81 minute length. still probably the best looking pixar film besides maybe toy story 4 for completely different reasons.

Has its moments but generally unfunny and satire really doesn't work as it borders on enabling xenopobia jn a pre 9/11 america which was already very racist.
why is every animated creator just millennial core?
im gonna sound like a broken machine but like, i personnaly can't enjoy a sloppily made show that doesn't result in an end in meaningfull way to the characters. like no i don't care about the underdeveloped self hatred jax has. i would fuck that frog tho but like you see what i mean? even if we get independent stuff, it still is so scared the audiences won't get it so they spell it out for you. i do see how its a passion project and it has some stuff thats personal to the creator but like, its brough over in a way so that little kids can watch it.

A decent crime thriller about the dangers of religion and the self importance that inevitable comes from it no matter how bad the opposite side is and generally i was suprised that it still the somewhat antagonist as a terrible person because it confronts the fact in many religious debates, both sides are equally as bad but one side is trying to shamelessly hide it behind God. It also plays with the fact a lot of religious people deny reality and rather bathe themselves into religious delusion.
Its sadly the fact the other characters are forgettable and the. cinematography wasn't anything special.

kinda is just obsession but much worse while still having all of curry barker, the director's worst tendencies.
educations does not work upon coldness because the only result you'll get is temporary. bits of pieces here and there are specifically about lust and love but it never really goes anywhere or is presented in its first half.
and largely, looking at the sexual history of the director kim ki-duk it feels very insencere in its depiction of lust especially because kim ki-duk plays one of the two main character and it so happens that he plays the character actively participating in his lust. furthermore, i don't think the film actively believes in its religious cycle because the only thing it really depicts is a cycle of coldness and isolation that only brings pain and loneliness. oh young-soo gives a decent performance, he does his job well but the script only gives him 1 sort of emotion so there isn't much to feel other then kinda just hate him like everybody else who participates in this dumb cycle. his characters teaches lessons but those lessons could be told by anyone else, especially about animal cruelty without sorting to generally something almost being close to child abuse. sure, his and the films main theme is also about life but what is life when you've known nothing other then wasting it? life is not training to learn someone else about. its about people, locations, connection and what you do with it and sure, if you wanna live like a monk then do it but not like this.is the film about this? maybe but that would bring up the issue that it never critique's this cycle and rather shows it as a legacy and legend to be held in motion for years to come.
