<I>Chronicle</i> is one of those films that sort of flew under the radar upon its release, but you've either heard of or seen it. I saw it in the theaters year ago, and was immediately blown away by how incredible it was. The characters are fantastic, with the film giving ample amount of time to let us learn about them, and the storyline was well-executed.
In the film, we learn of three now-friends who gain superpowers after touching a meteorite in a remote field. What ensues is a lot of action, laughter, and, eventually, decline. Having superpowers seems fantastic, if your life is going well, but one's unstable family affects the trio's plans, and it all leads downhill.
Overall, <I>Chronicle</i> is a <B>must-see</b>, but don't expect a follow-up anytime soon.
<B>Setup</b>: It was great to revisit <I>Chronicle</i> after some time. The found footage aspect really is the big draw here, which works well with <A HREF="http://letterboxd.com/lgoled">LG OLED in Perfect Black</A>. For a film that has a lot of shaky camera moments, they blended well together.
I've never watched any Star Trek except Next Generation, which I kind of liked. I'm surprised it took me so long to watch this because I like so many people in the cast. I think I'm just not that into Star Trek. This was pretty solid, just not really for me.
If I had seen this when I was younger, it would have been one of those childhood movies watched on repeat and burned into my memory and heart forever. Watching it for the first time now, I liked it a lot, and I can just appreciate the life we could have had together if things had been different.
The triple ending is fun.
Interesting. Well acted. Maybe a little long and I wish there was a little more back story to help fill that time.
September 5 reminded me a lot of Civil War, except confined to one building. The journalist perspective on what would otherwise be an action or thriller film isn't for everyone, but at a compact 90-minute runtime, I would watch this again before I'd rewatch Munich.

The storytelling reminded me of Big Fish. The very adorable little girl reminded me of The Florida Project. Something that I can't quite put my finger on reminded me The Little Princess. I love all of those, and I love this. I cried.
It's been some time since I watched both <I>Laid to Rest</i> films. After chatting with <A HREF="http://letterboxd.com/ari_hellraiser">Ariel</A> about one of our favorite films, <I>The Collector</i>, she recommended that I watch (revisit) these two films. There are similarities between the two - a silent killer who wears a mask and abducts people, and then tortures them in gruesome ways - but they are completely different in nature. Chromeskull, the villain, wears a camera to record his crimes, drives a fancy car, and wears a suit. He doesn't say a word, moves quickly, and then does his stuff. That's it.
<B>Setup</b>: I watched <I>Laid to Rest</i> with our <A HREF="http://letterboxd.com/lgoled">LG OLED in Perfect Black</A>. It's a dark film with a lot of moving parts, and attempts to recreate some of the <I>Saw</i> essence, but doesn't fully deliver in the end (which is why a sequel comes into play).
My favorite part was Timothy Olyphant.
I think I liked this movie when it came out. It didn't really hold my interest today.
I am confused how this movie has this cast. There was a plot with a satellite that I didn't even understand. I would have still given it 2.5 just because I like Rachel McAdams so much, but then John Krasinski's and Bradley Cooper's characters have a conversation using only looks, and they added closed captions to it to be cute, and I really hated that part so much.
Michael Keaton is a pig pilot named who fights pirates and fights an American who wants to marry Porco's best friend's widow (who loves Porco now) and also wants to marry Porco's teenage mechanic. He talks like he's it's film noir, and says things like "All middle-aged men are pigs" and "I'd rather be a pig than a fascist."
This is the one for me.
Also the whole opening with the pirates taking the little girls hostage was very funny, and I loved it.
