I don't really like the bits (the bear, the wife, etc.). I like a lot of the cast, and enough jokes land for me that I don't dislike this movie anymore. I would give it an extra half star if Tim Meadows got to play in the Megabowl.

Very similar vibes to Big Little Lies. Once you get past the characters all being generally unlikeable, the mystery is well-executed, and the ending makes sense.
I think I tried watching this before and fell asleep.
It’s an OK flick. Better than many in the witch hunter genre.
Sadly, I think it could have been even a little better with someone other than Vin Diesel. I don’t dislike him as an actor, but this just wasn’t the best for him. (And now that I think of it, outside of Caine, the whole main cast was miscast, IMO)
I can't believe I never noticed Brad is the same actor as Kenny from Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead ("The dishes are done, man.")
Iconic opening scene and the source of all of my pre-MCU Thor knowledge. I watched this on Disney+ though, and it was the edited-for-tv version, so the swear words were dubbed over. What the heck, Disney+? You have Deadpool on there now, and you are censoring Adventures In Babysitting???
Favorite (Not Necessarily Best) Four From Every Year Since Birth
There is a lot to love about this film. Emma Stone is astonishing, and well deserving of the Oscar she received for her portrayal.
The set design and costuming is brilliant and Lanthimos uses them to create an amazing world in which Stone, Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe, and the rest of the cast play with amazing relish.That being said, I think it was a trifle too long. I didn’t hate it, because I enjoyed seeing everyone continue to play, but from a purely technical perspective they could have dropped the last 20 minutes for sure.
I understand the hype around <I>Rebel Ridge</i>, given its great cast and storyline, but what I felt I watched was different than many of the other reviews on Letterboxd, IMDb and elsewhere.
<I>Rebel Ridge</i> is an action film that was mostly missing the action elements, while providing us with both acting and dialog that was unenthusiastic and monotone. In addition, the action presented was mostly unnecessary, and then the film just comes to a quick end.
Aaron Pierre and Don Johnson were well-cast in their roles, but, for the entirety of the film, Pierre was still in <I><A HREF="https://letterboxd.com/film/old-2021/">Old</A></i> form, and it just didn't fit well throughout.

This was either one of the worst films ever made, or one of the greatest. Weirdly, thanks to the Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome style Nazis, I think it is a little of both! ;)
Esther Povitsky's humor is very millennial thinking they are Gen Z, sort of like a new incarnation of Kelly Kapoor. If you liked her show Alone Together, you will probably also like this. Also Bobby Lee is in it.
I'm having trouble reconciling that the lead is Rumplestiken from Once Upon a Time.
Although I didn't find it especially funny, I appreciate that it was surprisingly progressive for 1997 and included a lot of social issues. I liked the audition sequence and the final dance.
Stuber is as good as you expect it to be from the trailers. It could be better; Kumail is consistent and raises the average, and Bautista turned Drax into the secret comedic weapon of the Guardians franchise.
Back when more comedies were theatrically released, this is the kind that would show second at the drive-in, after the Apatow one ended.
I liked this movie twenty years ago, and now I don't. The performances are good, and I've always liked Jena Malone, but there are too many conflicting movies here, along with a bizarre and unsatisfying ending.
The coming of age piece is the strongest part, even though I don't love the animated segments (the art is cool though) and it seems like a waste of Jodie Foster and Vincent D'Onofrio. The incest plot seems thrown in to give Margie unnecessary trauma and to set up a fight scene between the boys later in the film. Then the ending is so ridiculous that it cancels out anything of substance that happened.
The vibe of the original is that it was realistic(ish), and in this sequel Chris literally gets a shark tank. I like the scenes about Mindy and Dave dealing with the events of the first movie, but nearly everything with Chris as the villain misses the mark.
