Wedding Singer sort of lives in the shadows of Adam Sandler's other 90s comedies (Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy). It's a tad less quoteable, but it's just as good (and actually better than The Waterboy).
I went to Adam Sandler's last tour, and he sang "Grow Old With You" to a slide show of pictures of him and his wife. I sobbed.

I didn't really know anything about Brooke Shields before watching Pretty Baby. Although the primary topic is how Brooke was exploited, Pretty Baby is able to not feel exploitative due to Brooke's participation in the series. She has control and influence on how her story is told, and the result is a shocking and upsetting look into her life growing up as a child star.
The history of Tetris is interesting, but ultimately a thriller about Tetris just doesn't do anything special for me.
I like the idea of Knock at the Cabin more than I like the actual movie. I thought it was going to be another home invasion movie, and it subverted my expectations. I was surprised a few times, but I wasn't gripped. If I had stopped halfway through for some reason, I likely would have forgotten to finish it later.
It is nice to see Dave Bautista and Rupert Grint outside of Drax and Ron Weasley, even though I do love Drax and Ron.
This isn’t a bad film, but it fails to cross the line to being a good one.
There are some brief moments that are legitimately creepy, but those moments are dashed by the two leads hamming it up. I feel like with a different cast this would have been a good little monster flick.
(It has Jack Elam in it, so there is that. It’s what got me to watch it in the first place)
I watched this as part of my Apatow rewatch, even though I know he wasn't involved, because it just felt right.
This is probably my favorite bromance movie, and I don't think it gets the recognition it deserves for introducing us all to "Totes magotes."

Can't Hardly Wait is the most underrated teen movie of the 90's. It holds up perfectly.
The end of senior year party has been done a million times, and this is by far my favorite version. Ethan Embry is perfect as the guy who doesn't really fit into any clique, and the rest of the cast fills out the various other high school stereotypes. It is realistic enough, aside from Seth Green's wardrobe and Jenna Elfman as an angel stripper and the Barry Manilow of it all, but you have to let some things slide in a teen movie.
The jokes all land, and I can still quote it 25+ years later. It's all about the memories, man!

I'm always a pleasantly surprised when I rewatch Forgetting Sarah Marshall, because it gets lost in the mix of the Apatow-verse. Jason Segel wrote this one though, with Apatow as a producer, and I think it has aged better than the others.
It is funny that Jason Segel's character that he wrote for himself wants to make a puppet musical, and then he did actually write the Muppets movie musical afterwards.
I never liked Russell Brand, so I could do without him, but we aren't supposed to like his character anyway, so maybe it is perfect casting.

Even though Man of Steel wasn't really my cup of tea, I continued along, and here I am.
Henry Cavill still looks like Superman, and I am on board with Batfleck, but Jesse Eisenberg as Lex does not work. I don't know much about Lex, but from everything I do know, this isn't it.
Sort of snoozey.
This was my favorite movie when it came out. I saw it at the theater with a guy who I thought was lying about not being a virgin, so I kept trying to watch his responses to Andy's lies about it. I'll never know.
Some of this didn't age well, but I don't care. Leslie Mann's wanting some FRENCH TOAST will stay with me forever.

The criticism of Knocked Up portraying men as fun loveable oafs and women as uptight shrews stands, and I also think it's a funny movie. Both things can be true.
It's the larger ensemble that makes this work for me. Leslie Mann has blossomed from her FRENCH TOAST moment from 40 Year Old Virgin. I'm a big Freaks and Geeks fan, so naturally I love Martin Starr and Jason Segel. Little Maude and Iris Apatow are cute and funny; I love "I googled murder." It's not my favorite 2000's Apatow comedy, but I still have fun watching it.

I'm more of an MCU fan. As far as the DCEU goes though, this is my second favorite behind Shazam.
Henry Cavill looks like Superman, and I like his vibe, but I find Man of Steel to be slow overall. In between action scenes, I need something a bit punchier to keep me invested. I know Clark Kent isn't especially quippy, but I need to be hooked. I want to root for or against someone or something. I feel neutral.
I think Man of Steel and I are just incompatible. It's not you, it's me.
