why make this?
BUT what i think makes it compelling is how its basically linklater making another talky film but in another language and how it uses godard's personality to its benefit in creating interesting scenes.
i mean yeah the film is suppose to be a celebration of the french new wave and godard as a whole but im not that deep into both of those things to say if it is a good celebration of either.but what i do know that its a vibe, its linklater doing what he does best and using a real life figure and his unique personality to bend the biopic movie to his will.
i really liked the dialogue and cinematography.

not much life in this one.
kinda soulles, its a very generic family friendly sports films about a kids baseball team.....and other then moneyball, baseball has not been that interesting at all.
I can't tell what is going on but I love it, the music is also lovely and the horror way of course.

kinda get why not allot of people watched it.
while its cast and some direction by richard linklater make this sometimes interesting, the script delves so little into its characters that it feels like its missing 30 minutes.
the titular newton boys are boring and so is everybody else in the film.

speed racer simply is not JUST a film, its the wachowski sisters teaching everybody how to meaningfully construct an unrealistic world in live action with vfx.
its the antidote to modern use of technology in films, where everybody uses it to create the impossible in a realistic inviroment, speed racer does the opposite and creates a whole new style of its own.
the transitions, the fast but not to fast, punchy editing, the camerawork, they are all puzzle pieces to construct a film full of character.
we don't qeustion anything, the 2008 vfx that should look weird actually adds to the believe that this is how the world and logic in the film works.the performances are excellent and the hyper kinetic action and story telling creates a layer to its cast that has never been done previously or after.
speed racer is not just the wachowski's flexing but also remolding what a film can do with visuall effects. i especially love the camerawork in the racing scenes.watch my films

what bong does the best in this film is the grading of the films color.
while the color is almost drained, going for a mostly brown or grey color scheme in terms of its buildings and what the characters wear throughout the film.
the film is so tightly written and what i would call one of the greatest thrillers made this century because its thrills come from its way of critique of small police forces but also in its score and cinematography.the way bong shoots this film is amazing on its own, the camera knows when to take action or when to be extreme close to its characters.
it shot like at every moment something disturbing could happen.
song kang-ho, Kim Sang-kyung, Kim Roi-ha, Song Jae-ho and many more gives powerhouse performances.
the film is everything you could want out of a detective story.watch my films

One of finest comedies ever made i think which is not an unpopular opinion but its that for a reason.
Edgar wright needs to be more british again.

the kid is really strong and great in its simplistic story and characters.
its not as comedically strong as i hoped but its still pretty funny.
the performance are great and chaplin and the titular kid have really good chemistry.
not much else to say because chaplin is not as pretty as buster keaton.Watch my films

The film is the blueprint for most of hitchcocks career but its script lacks character work.

One battle after another is amazing and thrilling.
It is one of those movies(at least for me) where I don't understand everything it tries to say but its still so damm interesting despite that.
Everyone gives a powerhouse performance and for how sometimes weird the dialogue can get, it crafts its own identity in that same script.I do think the overall political messages get kinda hazy in its honestness due to the people behind it but past that, it still works amazingly well.

Like all bergman films, so quiet in places and loud in others.
Every relationship, every marriage is a struggle to both halfes and this film beautifully captures the underlining heartbreak, love and hate that unfortunately or fortunately gets dragged allong the way.
Liv ullman like always gives a powerhouse of a performance, so does erland josephson but liv ullman is like....idk, she captures this energy that no one else can.
Cinematographer sven nykvist captures the deppresing mood of the characters by having the camera up close most of the time, to see the each and every expression of the characters.
