its a simple proof of concept so i'll give it some slack but there isn't much here to enjoy. its also preserved like shit so the only available version was probably a vhs rip. that sucks because this is a very important piece in horror history.

The film is ambitious and i do like some of its stories but others just feel out of place. I mean at least all of them are not boring to watch so thats a plus.
Boring and uninteresting for a movie called cannibal apocalypse
actually better then the remake which i mean....allot of the times a remake is weaker or worse then the original but from what i've heard, allot of people preffer the 70s film.
idk, it either might just me liking old black and white horror movies but this one is better.
i thought i had never watched this but apparantly did so i wasted my time , again
i like the directors ambition and the film itself and its cinematography look really great but this film could've easily been longer if there was a real hook to its human characters.
indy is going places tho, if we are lucky.
brutal as it is tragic but its tragedy with flaws.
the long walk is good but it sometimes thinks i care about some its characters more then i actually do.
i mean yeah i really like...4 of its characters but other then that it feels as if the other characters serve pete and ray, they are great characters and jt moller's script give david johnnson and cooper hoffman allot to work with but that same script something thinks its allot smarter then it is.some of its vfx look messy but they are minor things so it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
i like the film and allot of the performances.
Its action is bombastic but it doesn't go all coke addict esk fight scenes before getting to the character based stuff.
The film is an emotional gut punch while also at the same time being thrilling as fuck. Also power isn't in it much because she would've beaten the bomb devil in 5 min if we are being generous here.
Also I need that bomb devil outfit(when she is fully clothed)
Lowkey the license soundtrack for this film is stacked with great songs.

Natalie Portland gives a great performance and the themes of abuse and perfectionism in industries like this are very apparant.
Its a surrealist nightmarish film and while i don't really think oronofsky's kind is always good or all that special, it still tries its best to leave a lasting impact on the viewer.
Personally i just don't really care for anything else here, the film looks good but is shot in an uninteresting way.Its impossible to not mention perfect blue while reviewing this film, they are very similaire but just different in their approach and imo the horror in black swan is not that interesting at all most of the time.
Its clear in what it wants to say but it doesn't do that in interesting ways, it just feels like teens first surrealist film.
Survival films are always in my opinion a way for directors and or writers to flex their creativity but sadly most of them aren't really good at all.
