Basically the original film but with a new coat of paint.

Bugonia is very strong in its visuals and lead performances and the dialogue is strong but still to similaire to the original south korean film to feel needed.
Overall i think this is not as bold as the that one or it falls into the same trap most american remakes of asian film in where bits are to similaire for it to stand out.

Teddy's whole arc is lifted straight out of the original just with some extra unnecessary lanthimos glitter.
I do like don tho.

Everything is so good except Woody Allen himself and his character.
Like licorice pizza, the story and characters are good on their own but then the unneeded element of pedophilia is thrown in and makes everything worse.
Like this guy and his character imo automatically suck unwashed butt because you are suppose to root for the guy lol.

Watch my film instead https://boxd.it/byc3TV

Such a vibe.
The dialogue and performances give these characters so much personality.
I love it, easily one of the best films that i've seen from the 70s.
I love movies that feel like just an extended asmr video

(Also watch my new film https://boxd.it/byc3TV )

nihilistic, brutal but an honest portrayal of certain aspects of us humans and revenge.
nobody is entirely "good" in this tale, some are just foolish, some are bad and there are those who are truly evil.
the way this movie makes you root for gengobe and twists the story like its easily snapping someone's neck, is pretty cool.

the film in its black and white glory looks stunning. its blood, framing and ability to use the camera excellently is amazing.
arguably one of the best horror movies i've seen. it should be up there with perfect blue and the thing imo.

Verbinski is as strong as ever with his framing and camera work, its just that the writing is a bit wonky. Its still good fun and the performances are good but the film sometimes loses focus, it picks back up everytime tho.

Mia goth's characters is the weak link when it comes to her character but the others are better written.
Its just that the themes of the film are not that clear(at least for me)

Im already not a huge fan of the original exorcist, it was fine, 6/10 but its not a movie i consider great.
The exorcist 2 is even worse, i think the production design and cinematography are still good but there is almost nothing to care about and it just become white noise.

Basically all the problems with conclave are present here but far worse. The editing and score is genuinely so boring and while i don't think the editing is as bad as that in conclave, it still so boring to look at.
Also, the lighting in some scenes is genuinely bad.

Colin farrel gives a good performance but his and the other characters feel all over the place. Whats the main theme here? What is berger trying to do? It feels like they flip flop all over the place and forget half of the time.

maybe it wasn't such a good idea to watch this while sick and tired but the devils is still really good.
its depiction of followers of religion are interesting and fun to watch.
everyone is despicable but it works.

the film looks great and the costumes are also awesome.

i really like the nicolas cage remake, this original adaptation is better directed and looks better obviously but honestly outside of nicolas cage.....i still preffer the remake.

this one is definitly stronger thematically but my god is the main character in this boring asf.
cage and the backstory they give him in the remake makes him a far more interesting character. here our main character is just a random police officer, i mean he does have character but he's very boringly played imo.
now the films sidecharacters, the people who live in the village are the best part about the film, here they all have great personalities that are fun to watch. the village and its people are better handeld in this then the remake because i do have to say that its to obvious in the remake.
is this technically a better movie?
probably but i still preffer the nicolas cage rendition.
