The science is complete crap, but this is a damn fun romp! It is science FICTION, so whatever.
Still think they completely ruined the best line of the movie by spoiling “Consider that a divorce.” in the trailer. Whoever edited that together should have been thrown out to pre-climatic Mars.

Klaus really feels like it could have come out when I was a kid, and it would be one of those Christmas classics I would have kept watching every year. It's a simple and clever Santa origin story with a killer voice cast. I love Norm Macdonald, which is why I decided to give it a shot.
Extra kudos to Joan Cusack. Her voice is so locked in as Jessie from Toy Story that I was wondering if it would take away from her villain role, but somehow I didn't just hear Jessie the whole time. Guess that's why Joan is the best!
Interstellar would have definitely been called Gravity if Gravity hadn't just been called Gravity.
My favorite small moment is Topher Grace grabbing a tire iron to fight Casey Affleck.

Oh, it has its flaws for sure, (Theatrical cut less so,) but I still find it to be a fantastic send off to the TOS crew. It makes me smile and it makes my Trekkie heart cheer.
Since the holiday season is literally around the corner, it's time to get into the spirit of Christmas, this time with <B>Amazon Prime Video</b>'s <I>Red One</i>, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the Head of Security for Santa (a muscular J.K. Simmons, a far cry from what we see Santa portrayed in books, comics, and mostly every other Christmas film).
Johnson stars as "Cal", Santa's Head of Security, who has served alongside Santa for many years, but has decided to resign from his role (with one last ride in store as Christmas Eve approaches). After a breach at Santa's compound in the North Pole, Cal must rescue Santa before Christmas Day, with the help of the man, Chris Evans' "Jack", who unknowingly located and shared the details for a shady organization, led by "Gryla" (<I>Totally Killer</i>'s Kiernan Shipka), via the Dark Web. Now, it's up to Cal and Jack to find the middleman and to get back their Santa in time for Christmas.
The film, which pairs Johnson and Evans in a more comedic joint effort, takes us on quite an adventure, from the North Pole to Aruba, all while including everything you expect from a Johnson/Evans film - comedy, action, a plot that brings all details together, and CGI effects galore. It's a fun ride as the characters go between different worlds to rescue Santa, especially for the holidays, and one that will go on future Christmas/holiday lists to come.
If you're looking for a fun holiday film for the family, this comes highly recommended, especially if you plan on watching with your LG OLED TV with Perfect Black. Kick back with a glass of eggnog and enjoy!
If Freeform made a Christmas slasher, this would be it. Usually I'd say ABC Family, but it's incredibly inclusive, which nudges it more on the Freeform side.
Super cheesy, especially the dialogue, but kind of a fun and easy watch.

2024 viewers can see the plot twist a thousand miles away, but in 1979 it may have worked, assuming you hadn’t watched “Psycho” first.
Apparently Chuck Conners had hoped he might become a 1980’s Boris Karloff-like horror villain. You know, I’d have liked that! I think he could have pulled it off.

Incredibly well acted, and a little too slow paced. It loses me a little by centering so much on Joaquin Phoenix's character and left me wanting to know so much more about the characters portrayed by Amy Adams and Jesse Plemons. Sometimes I just want a slightly different movie, and that's on me.
When Sabrina hosts SNL, it's going to be so great.

This is a first time watch, as I'm broadening my holiday horror this year. The phone calls were actually super creepy and unsettling, and the eye through the crack jump scare was effective. I love Barb's hair and her whole vibe. Not sure if this really has a place in my Christmas rotation, but a solid watch.
