It's not fair to cast Margot Robbie and Sebastian Stan as a couple when you know the story goes this way.
A biopic about Tonya Harding by nature sounds like it would be exploitative. However, in I, Tonya, she is not the punchline. She is a victim of abuse from her mother, partner, and half-brother. She is potentially an unreliable narrator. She is possibly a conspirator to Nancy Kerrigan's assault. Taking all of that into account, the film is careful to not take a mocking tone (except with the bodyguard, who they are totally mocking, which provides some of the funniest moments).

Characters were interesting and the actors were fantastic, but the story was really weak.
Fern's exclusion from the movie poster is so true to the essence of Jawbreaker.
This was one of my favorites when it came out, and it doesn't miss a beat 25 years later. It hits a lot of the same notes as Heathers, but without Winona Ryder to ground it, it goes further into camp territory. It deserves the cult status it has earned over the years. The casting (except for Marilyn Manson), the dialogue, the wardrobe, and the soundtrack are all winners.
I liked this a lot more on the second watch, bumping it from 2 stars to 3.5. It's an interesting and creative concept with a huge payoff at the end, which I thought both times. On the first watch, I expected a more traditional horror set up, and the group of friends just doesn't do it for me, specifically Dana as the Final Girl. When I approach it with Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford as the main characters, I love it and I love them.
I didn't know this was going to be a Christmas movie, and I reject it as one. It feels like the studio decided to turn it into a Christmas movie the day before filming, and they said the best they could do were a few songs, a couple lines of dialogue, and some pajamas.
If I was eight I would probably love it though. It's cute.
This is all I want in a rom-com. Zoey Deutch is adorable, and Glen Powell is Chad Radwell. Taye Diggs and Lucy Liu work as villains because they sell being the worst but you want them to stop being the worst because it's Taye Diggs and Lucy Liu.
Also Lucy Liu looks amazing in clothes. All clothing looks better on her than on other people.
The first three have the advantage of the audience watching Caesar grow in Rise, and then watching the world grow in Dawn and War. With this starting a new trilogy, it's most fair to compare it to Rise.
It looks great, and the plot is interesting and makes sense as an evolution after War. It's less successful with character development. The action starts pretty quickly before you have a chance to really get to know anyone.

Made for the next generation and not old fogies like me. Sure there were lots of fan service moments, but they didn’t work for me as well as they did for “Afterlife”.
Game Night boasts a top tier cast and a lot of fun twists and turns. Jason Bateman has great chemistry with both Rachel McAdams and Kyle Chandler, and Jesse Plemons is incredible.
I love the establishing shots that look like game boards. Also I'm a little surprised this is rated R. Not sure if that's warranted.

<i>Founders Day</i> is a fun slasher that's filled with some bad acting, a broken storyline, and a lousy conclusion, but it was a lot of fun to watch. If you're looking for something to pass the time, this is it.

The ending's reveal was too long and ridiculous. While I did say it’s a “fun watch”, it doesn’t mean that it was a good film.
Spotlight is incredibly straightforward. No gimmicks, nothing fancy. It relies on excellent writing and acting to tell a story about very sensitive subject matter through the lens of the journalists who exposed the scandal nationwide.
I will almost always feel that Michael Keaton and Rachel McAdams are the best parts of anything they're in, but Mark Ruffalo has an outwardly emotional scene that he really knocks out of the park. Stanley Tucci and Billy Crudup were especially impressive with only a few scenes each. The most memorable scene for me is Brian d'Arcy James, who I wasn't familiar with before this, realizing some of the priests live in his neighborhood and running to find the house.
The Fall Guy is a fun action-comedy to kickoff summer.
The first quarter was a little slow to get the action rolling, but luckily Ryan Gosling's charisma can easily carry a good bit itself. I felt the Kenergy. It did lose me a little during this though and never fully got me back. I was expecting a little more Bullet Train, so that's on me.
