One of the greatest action films ever made.
Not only because of its amazing cast but also likeable characters and cinematography. It fires on all cilinders and is perfect as just a popcorn flick but also as a genuine good film that stands the test of time.
Nicolas cage, as always is the best part about the film.

Happy gilmore should have stayed retired
for such a beloved and until this day, the highest grossing film ever made, its not really anything special or even that good.
i've seen my fair share of kid slop films to kinda despise the trope were the main character hides something from the rest of the cast and there is a big falling out until like 10 min later where they make up and fight the bad guy, who is not that good tbh.
he doesn't have allot of naunce to him, no depth. same with every other character. jake sully is possible the most boring main character ever put to film. neytiri is also not a compelling character. JUST NO CHARACTER IS INTERESTING AT ALL.
the technology and visual effects are amazing but when thats all you have then sorry but you are at the wrong adress.
its practical kills and music are great. i think its at its scariest at moments like when someone hung herself and it holds onto that moment for a bit longer then other horror movies would've.
the story is interesting but the writing leaves allot to be desires, i like to think this a repacution of lying to his wife and he has to witness it all but i also don't think the film goes to far with that.
its ALMOST a 7/10 but the longer i think about it, its pacing is really slow.
this movie reminds me of the scooby doo mystery incorporated episode, secret of the ghost rig but sadly the episode is better then this movie.
i love how good the shot compositions were and how unlike allot of directorial debutes, this was not entirely boring but i also didn't get much out of it.
dennis weaver is excellent and i think its sad that his great performance gets kinda wasted. its not bad but the performance does heavy lifting into me liking the character. i think this would have been better off as a short film.
While it tips its toes into race, its not the whole films and honestly for what it is its fine if not mediocre.
Robert deniro gives a fine performance.
Suspiria is a good film, filled with bright haunting colors that give the film a nightmarish fever dream feel.
It's accompanied score which features heavy orchestral and piano(I think) add to this feeling.
But what downplays this is how it feels like a random collection of conversation that ultimately leads to a plot twist that while pretty shocking, is not that amazing.
The acting is pretty good and the film looks like a beautifull painting but it sacrifices story and characters for that and I don't know how to feel about that.
Obviously the main thing of this film is the colors and cinematography but besides that I didn't have much to chew on. It's still a good movie but a little dissapointing.
Its campy for sure and I love allot of the line deliveries and shot compositions.
All around the film looks fantastic and the set and costume designs are great.

darkman is one of the more forgotten comic book movies, probably also because i have never heard someone talk about the comic it was based on.
sam raimi's first ever comic book film, its more rough around the edges as the script is sometimes pretty weak.
it does touch on a man overflowed with grief and sadness. a man who tries to reach what he once lost. a man who feels like a monster.
but its also really goofy which inherently is part of why it works.
it has fun with itself while also taking itself seriously enough.the film has a great cast, i really liked liam neeson as the main lead. i didn't read the cast list and so i was suprised to see him in here since i wouldn't expect him to do a film such as this but im pleasantly suprised.
I want to live in a timeline where oj simpson kept acting.
The seqeul to the first naked gun is pretty good and on par with the first.
Leslie neelson as frank drebbin is great like always and I really like how allot of the jokes stand on their own instead of repeating the first film.
