I really didn't like how other then me, only three people were in the theater.
Its kinda the state indie production are at rn, especially animated ones.
I've already reviewed this film so check out my first review of the film because i want to focus this one on something else and thats the fact that...no one wants to see anything anymore.
And i mean like general audiences.
Its really frustrating hearing phrases like "modern movies are garbage" or "nothing is original anymore"
Wich is not true.
We got a really solid comedy just last month in one of them days (wich you should watch btw)
That film is not entirely indie but its also not a full blown big budget release.
Anyway back what i was saying, i think the general audience is definitly at fault for not making non studio films succesful.
Flow is another example of an independent animated film wich i heard is really good to.
All am trying to say is that i would like for new and creative films to get the money they deserve instead of that money going to soulles marvel movies or the next streaming slop like electric state(fuck off netflix lmfao)

the concepts nolan presents in his films are nothing but brilliant but there is always something that goes wrong and oh boy something does go horrible wrong with this one.
its not terrible...........but its also not good, the first half hour is really interesting and seeing the concept of going into dreams unfold before my eyes was really cool but sadly this film is not 30 min long.
it honestly becomes boring as hell because i don't like any of the characters besides dom himself(also why tf is his fucking name dom cobb???)
from a filmmaking perspective its really great but without that its kinda whatever.

Iconic for sure but its not really an interesting film to talk about.
Every character is basic and has no personality besides their main traits like "evil"
I always found mother to be a strange picture in bong's filmography, like its good but not great despite it all being there.
The script is great, the deep meaning behind it is really good but its kinda hard to emotionally connect with it.
I like mother herself and the casting is genius for multiple reason but what really bugged me is how agonizingly slow this film is and how the mystery is not that engaging.
I still like the characters and kinda the story but the pacing ruins it for me kinda.
The first two segments suck both visually and in story.
The pacing is awful, the cinematography is awful and the stories themselves feel rather first drafty then anything else.
Unsuprisingly the 3rd and final segment wich is directed by bong joon-ho is so much better.
His segment doesn't feel like it was just put together in a day.

Its suprisingly a biopic so that makes it even more shocking how bad the representation of autism is.
No, autistic people do not act like this, autistic people can act like normal people and yeah known not strangle someone.
I think they nailed one basic thing and that is that allot of autistic people have obsessions like films, its not exclusieve to autistic people but allot of them do have obsessions like that.
Overall even if you put aside the disgusting autistic representation you are left with unlikeable characters with no chemistry or interesting drama.Pls zachary levi stop acting.

Is it bong's best english film?
Yeah pretty much, the film has a strong personality.
I have read halfway threw the book and i think it retains allot of the charm the book has from its structure going from death to death in an almost backwards but still forwards way.
Of course because its a film it leaves allot of things out from the book and so far the biggest change i noticed is that the character played by steve yeun is called timo instead of berto.
Idk why they changed that, seems unnecesary.
The titular character(s) retain allot of they're original character traits from the books and on top off that, robert pattinson gives an amazing performance.
Overall the cast is great, the only one i found underutilized is toni collete because she did much more in the book then in the film.
I still liked her performance but her and the character aren't that memorable.
Marshall played by mark ruffalo is not a one to one with the book but i like the change because it fits with the time and how politics are right now.
Visually the film looks stunning but its no where near the level of cinematography as even mother i would say and im not the biggest fan of mother(at least the first time i watched it)
I think its the most non jarring english film off bong since while i love snowpiercer and i like okja, they definitly feel allot more on the nose and in your face and while i think mickey 17 still often does that, i think it has a stronger character to it and just more fleshed out characters and plot.
The book is still better but this film is great in its own right.
