Rango is a beautifully animated film starring mr. Depp.
The title character, rango is written with allot of charm.
He's funny and depp's voice fits the character very well. Its just everything around it is a mixed bag. Beans is a pretty decent character, bouncing off rango in multiple ways that leads to great comedy effect.
My main problems really are the fact that i don't really like the story, i don't hate it and its better executed then most films that use the same sort of structure but its still not remarkable at all. And second of all, the antagonists.I remember when allot of people were hyping up rattlesnake jack but like....he's very one dimensional.
The mayor has allot more depth but he has minimal screentime as an antagonist. Its kinda sad when the Hawks have a more threatening presence then both of them.
I really like the animation, its great and its realistic but not to an annoying degree for an animated film.

Great film.
Don't have much to say except that he almost said 6 7
malcolm x is a gigantic film that is worth the runtime.
the script is very good and denzel washingtons performance transforms the already great script into something truly special.
i don't understand everything but to me thats what makes allot of films beautifull because each and everytime you can get something new out of the same thing.
biopics should strive to tell stories like this, stories that critique not only our ancestors or somebody else's ancestor but also place certain qeustion to specific folk.
charlie kirk got shot lmfao

its maybe a bit to long for its own good but it expertly sets up its two main leads.
aamir khan gives a great performance aswell as darsheel safary.
idk man, its all i could have wanted out of a film critiqueing schools and parents shortcomings when it comes to artistic things aswell as putting high expectations on children.
Such a weird film.
What in theory should've been a slam dunk, is in actuality a mediocre mess of a film.
There has been information about the fact the crew got given 1 year less of development time as this and toy story 4 switches release dates so it's not entirely the fault of the people who made this. There are allot of deleted scenes showcasing the potential this film had but thats just it, potential.
The film is more so busy with the superhero side of things then actually telling a good story.
Hellen is kinda insufferable in this film as in the first film it's understandable why she acts the way she does but here its kinda bullshit. At this point in the timeline she should've already believed the law is maybe not as sacred as she thought.
Bob is just....there, he seems not that supportive of his wife doing superhero work.
Overall most of the returning character don't have anything new to tell. The action is still great, better then the first one maybe.
The animation looks great on a technical level but the new character designs are not good. I like 2 of the new characters designs and its because they don't look like pixars usually clashing of realistic everything else and cartoons designs.
That's not ultimately a bad thing automatically but when you look at the first film, imo its the best looking pixar film in terms of making that perfect balance between looking animated but have the background not have real looking textures.
Yes I agree, there are some weird looking background characters but most of the time it looks great. But this film kinda drops the ball with it, the new supers look very weird when side by side with the old supers.
Even bob looks weird sometimes.
Again I don't hate this film but its nothing really special.
Where the first film was very smart, this film is the same but dumbed down.
Chris columbus is joining the washed directors counsel as this is not it.
What holds it back from letting the performances and mystery truly shine is its lack of compelling characters which is a shame because all of the actor do bounce of eachother its just that there is nothing for their respective characters.
They are very bland.I also didn't really find the film all that funny, its kinda just mcu level humor.
The movie is not a looker, its a Netflix movie is thats not a suprise but I think the story is there, on paper but it really needed allot more for it to actually have its concept become fleshed out.
I wouldn't say I outright despise this film but its more so a lack of anything good in it that makes me give it 1 and a half star because I like some of the performances and thats kinda it.
one of the most interesting films of the year because there is ALLOT to talk about. for one, the release date(s) has been all over the place which should not be the case for a spike lee film.
and second of all its a remake of akira kurosawa's high and low from 1963 which is considered one of the greatest films in terms of not only story but its film making aswell. i think lee had to do a monumental task of not only reshaping kurosawa's masterpiece but also living up to it and i think he almost succeeds.
first of all, denzel washington carries this film on his back, his charismatic performance really makes the character different from his 63 counterpart aswell as the difference in background.
imo there is allot more i could have gotten out of it if i knew how the music industry works but i do know the universal thing what makes everything tink and thats money.its 63 predecessor is easily top 2 films about how capitalism is a driving force in people's behavior and emotions.
money controls allot of us and what we do, that includes music aswell.
asap rocky's character is pretty good, he's ultimately sort of a dark reflection of the kidnapper in the original film.
where as capitalism made him blind with rage, filled with jealousy....asap's character is more so blind to his own motivations and why he's doing it. at least thats how i see it as in the end, he gets the fame, he wants the money, it feels as if he forgot what made him do it. i also like the theme of artistry and capitalism clashing with eachother, one growing on the others back like a parasite that feeds on the creativity and passion of the people.also ice spice made an appearance which was funny as fuck
Allot of cunt, costumes, sets and excellent production design wasted on like the most bare bones story and characters. Look im not asking much but allot of the writing is so goddamm sauceless.
I can't say anything about the cinematography since the version i was watching was some shitty Ai upscale.
How the teachers at my litteral film school didn't notice that is kinda insane.
this is just lord of the rings again but without sharp character writing because basically everyone is just the equivalent of a cardboard cuttout or body pillow.
bilbo FUCKING baggins is barely a character in the film called
T H E H O B B I T.the vfx are pretty bad and im not gonna act like the lotr trilogy doesn't have some bad green screen vfx but at least thats balanced out by its incredible practical effects and great sets.
(anyway watch my latest film and also my other ones
